In healthcare, laboratories and industry, it is necessary to use materials in gas distribution systems that are guaranteed to be durable and meet high requirements.

Copper has a natural strength. As a result, copper pipes can withstand high working pressure and have a long service life. These properties make the pipes extremely suitable for use in distributing pure gases.

The copper pipes supplied by Combigas are manufactured in accordance with NEN-EN 13348. To prevent contamination during storage and transport, all pipes are always supplied capped.

Material

The quality of the copper used is indicated by Cu-DHP and contains at least 99.9% copper and between 0.015% and 0.040% phosphorus. In addition, a residual carbon content of maximum 0.020 g/m2 is guaranteed. A residual carbon content of maximum 0.010 g/m2 is available on request. Each delivery is provided with a 3.1 certificate in accordance with NEN-EN 10204.

Application

The cleaned seamless copper tube can be used for distributing compressed gases and vacuum within a temperature range of -20°C to 40°C. Other operating temperatures are available on request.

To make risks manageable and maintain an overview of building-related gas installations, marking gas pipes is necessary and mandatory under Dutch and European regulations.
The pipe markings must comply with established standards in terms of colour and print. In addition to the colour, the flow direction, name, chemical formula and any hazardous properties of the medium are shown on the marking.

The markings must be applied at least:

  • Every 10 metres
  • At every branch and at every tap point
  • Before and after a wall, bulkhead or wall penetration

Combigas has standardised the most common pipe markings based on current standards.

Material

  • Pipe stickers according to NEN 3050: one-sided, self-adhesive standard vinyl. Colour according to NEN3050 with black print.
  • Pipe stickers according to NEN-EN-ISO 7396-1: one-sided, self-adhesive standard vinyl. Colour white with colour band according to NEN-EN-ISO 5359 with black print.

Various gases are used in laboratories, which are often transported to the location where the gases are used by means of a central gas distribution system.

In order to supply the gas correctly to a device or for an application, there are multiple possible points of withdrawal to obtain the desired pressure or flow.

The solenoid valve F420 from Céodeux-Cryotec is a compact, indirect (servo-controlled) 2/2-way solenoid valve with many possible applications for industrial gas installations.

The F420 is equipped with female BSP threaded connections. Other connections, such as solder connections and clamping ring couplings, are possible. The F420 is supplied in brass as standard.
The valve meets the cleanliness requirements of NEN-EN-ISO 15001:2010 and is therefore suitable for oxygen and can be used in piping systems for medical gases (NEN-EN-ISO 7396-1).
The solenoid valve can be mounted in any position.

Unicontrol tapping points are extremely suitable for technical industrial gases with a purity of up to 5.0. The tapping point consists of a mounting plate for wall mounting, a ball valve, a pressure regulator equipped with an adjustment gauge according to EN 562 and a hose nozzle for connecting a hose. Multiple versions are also available.

Application

The unicontrol tapping points are extremely suitable for reducing the central line pressure to a user pressure for, among other things, autogenous and welding applications. Due to their large capacity, the unicontrol tapping points are also suitable for other industrial applications, such as blanketing and gassing of products. With an adjustment, they can also be used for the food industry.

The MM70 cylinder central unit is a compact, simple cylinder central unit for flammable and non-flammable gases, which ensures that your cylinder pressure is reduced to a safe line pressure.

The SV805 is a spring-loaded blow-off safety device that is specially designed to protect your gas distribution system, pressure vessel or device against excessive pressure. For example, excessive pressure can occur when a pressure regulator fails.

A blow-off safety device must be used in your installation to comply with the Pressure Equipment Directive PED 97/23/EC and the underlying standards, such as NEN-EN 15001-1 (laboratories and industry) and NEN–EN ISO 7396-1 (healthcare)

The GKKV3PD ball valve is particularly suitable for use in piping systems for industrial and medical gases. The cone on the ball valve forms an ideal metallic gas-tight seal with the ball of the solder or weld nipple.

During installation, the valve can always be placed in the correct position, without the risk of leakage due to twisting. A variety of solder nipples and unions according to NEN-EN-560 are available for the connection to copper pipes. Weld nipples are available for stainless steel pipes.

The EMD 500 06 tapping point is specially designed for applications where capacity, quality and purity of gases are essential.
Due to its attractive design, the EMD 500 06 wall tapping point is suitable for wall mounting and is available in various control ranges, for gases with corrosive properties or where the environment requires this.

The wall tapping point is available in a chrome-plated brass version and in a stainless steel version.

The open/close valve, set pressure regulator and set pressure gauge are built entirely on an aluminium mounting plate.

The diaphragm valve from the 7800 series is a valve with a stainless steel separation diaphragm. This makes the valve particularly suitable for use in piping systems for pure gases.
The stainless steel separation diaphragm ensures a high diffusion density of the tap. The connections of the diaphragm valve are equipped as standard with a hollow cone with external thread, with suitable solder nipples that ensure a completely metallic seal. In addition, a version with brass or stainless steel (twin ferrule) compression fittings is available, which also seal completely metallic.

A compact central unit for two or more acetylene cylinders that automatically switches over based on pressure difference when one side becomes empty. The BMD202-39 is specially designed according to the latest requirements of NEN-EN-ISO 14114 to safely reduce acetylene from cylinders to a line pressure of maximum 1.5 bar.
The BMD202-39 series is supplied in a very complete version consisting of a mounting plate, manual quick-release valves, pressure regulator with handle for determining the preferred side, second stage pressure regulator, flame arrester and supply valve. Optionally available with inductive contact pressure gauges for remote content signaling.

Application

Suitable for reducing various qualities of acetylene and optionally expandable to a maximum of 2×8 cylinders. The plant thus complies with the requirements of NEN-EN-ISO 14114.

Pressure regulator U13 from the Spectrotec line of Spectron is a good spring-loaded single-stage regulator that accurately regulates the pressure with a large capacity demand of gases.
The pressure regulator is extremely suitable for large consumers of gases1 between 20 and 400 nm3/h and is also available in a special version for oxygen.

To ensure that the pressure regulator functions properly, use a connection coupling with a sniffing hole (see order details).

The Combi high-pressure flexible coupling lines have been specially developed to connect gas cylinders and packages to a pipeline network in various situations. The flexible coupling lines meet the highest requirements in terms of safety and quality.
Due to their modular composition, the hoses can be assembled quickly and can be delivered from stock with the correct connections, both secondary and primary.

As standard, all hoses are suitable for 200 bar working pressure (300 bar Combi Black) and are equipped with an Anti-Slam Breakage cable (ASB) that prevents the hose from hitting if it breaks. The stainless steel braiding is equipped with a Hytrel outer sheath to prevent painful injuries to hands during connection.

The matching cylinder connections are made of high-quality brass and designed with a 90° connection bend, so that the hose is not put under tension during connection.

In order to select the correct hose for the correct application, Combigas has designed three versions: Combi Black, Combi Blue and Combi Red. Each is available in one meter length for cylinders and two and a half meters length for connecting gas packages.

The R280 line pressure regulator is a robust pressure regulator made entirely of brass. It is extremely suitable for reducing the pressure of medical gases, compressed air and neutral gases.
The line pressure regulator R280 is specially cleaned for oxygen use and is supplied as standard with a spindle lock nut and one blanked-off pressure gauge connection. Adjustment by hand wheel, toggle or hexagon, depending on model and secondary pressure. Pressure gauges, mounting brackets and revision sets are available separately.

In heavy industry, food industry, healthcare and laboratories it is necessary to use materials that meet high requirements and whose durability is guaranteed. Thanks to the strength of the stainless steel alloys we have selected, the pipes can withstand high working pressures and have a long service life.
These properties make the pipes extremely suitable for use in transporting gases in a clean or aggressive environment. The standard stainless steel pipes supplied by Combigas are manufactured in accordance with NEN-EN 10088 and tested in accordance with TÜV report 271-12. All pipes are supplied capped to prevent contamination during storage and transport.

The PNN isolation coupling has been specifically developed for medical gas installation systems. This isolation coupling provides galvanic separation/interruption of piping systems. It is used in pipes to rooms with K3 classification according to NEN1010:2007.
The couplings are ready for immediate use and suitable for brazing. The isolation couplings are supplied free of oxygen, oil and grease and are tightened by hand.

Technical data

The insulating effect of the coupling is based on the use of POM intermediate rings. During the installation of the coupling, it is important that the temperature at the location of the POM rings does not exceed 60°C.

Filter F445 is a robust filter for a working pressure of up to 40 bar, equipped with a brass collection cup and condensate drain. This version is specially cleaned for oxygen use and has a sintered bronze filter of 40 or 5 ųm. Versions 03 (G 3/8”) and 06 (G3/4”) are supplied with reducing rings.

The double-stage regulator is a special cylinder pressure regulator for laser gases used for a laser cutting machine.
The regulator is connected directly to the cylinder. The pressure is reduced in two stages, so that the outgoing pressure remains constant when the cylinder becomes empty.

Furthermore, the regulator is equipped with a blow-off safety, main and flushing valve, a pressure adjustment knob and a pressure gauge for the cylinder and process pressure. The regulator can be connected to the laser via an additional 6mm stainless steel pipe.

Combigas uses hydrogen leak detection equipment for an accurate leak tightness determination of a gas installation. With the leak detector type ‘Sensistor 9012 XRS’ and the ‘Tracy’, leaks in gas systems can be detected very accurately.
In addition to leaks, there can also be diffusion in the gas system, which has a negative effect on the gas quality. Diffusion is caused by contamination from the outside air. This contamination enters the gas system via appendages and/or connections. These so-called ‘mini’ leaks are not noticed with a standard leak tightness determination (where only pressure drop over a unit of time is measured).

The HB 6.2 signaling unit is extremely suitable for monitoring the status of your gas distribution system remotely, in combination with contactors. This includes content signaling of your gas cylinders, gas packages and bulk tank and monitoring your line pressure.
As contactors, both (pressure) switches and contact manometers in NO or NC versions can be connected. When the contact is broken (NO) or made (NC), an optical and acoustic signal follows.

The acoustic signal can be suppressed using the reset button. The optical signal disappears when the contact is restored.

The gas preheater 500/1000 watts is suitable for technical, medical and pure non-corrosive gases and non-flammable gases, with a working pressure of up to max. 200 bar.
The preheater is placed directly in the high-pressure line, between the cylinder battery and the pressure regulator and prevents the pressure regulator from freezing. The gas preheater works without heat-transferable fluids, which significantly reduces the maintenance interval.

At the gas cylinder storage where gas cylinders are stored or cylinders are connected to a gas distribution system, the nature of the hazard of the gas must be indicated. For this we use hazard indications, in accordance with 92/58/EEC and CLP. In accordance with PGS 15, these symbols must be visibly displayed near the gas cylinders for the user and emergency services.

Inspection and maintenance advice based on NEN EN 15001-2 and NEN- EN ISO 7396-1 for medical and technical-industrial gas distribution systems.
Not applicable for natural gas, compressor and vacuum systems, as well as cryogenic gas tanks (bulk).

This high pressure regulator is suitable for reducing the pressure in the gas packaging to the desired working or line pressure. The regulator is available as a cylinder pressure regulator (ideal series) and as a battery pressure regulator (B51 series) with a wide variety of adjustable working pressures.

A compact cylinder plant for two or more cylinders that automatically switches over when one side becomes empty based on pressure difference. Specially designed for propane and related gases, which are used for a continuous process.

The CEN series is supplied in a complete version consisting of: flushing and main shut-off valves, pressure relief valve and handle to determine the preferred side. The whole is built on an aluminium mounting plate. Optionally available with inductive contact pressure gauges (/C version) for remote content signalling.

If an uninterrupted gas flow is required for your process, this compact cylinder plant is the optimal choice as a source arrangement. 2 or more cylinders can be connected to this source arrangement. If one of the plants is empty, it automatically switches to the full side. This guarantees a continuous gas flow. After turning the selection knob (for example arrow L → R) and changing the empty cylinder, the machine will switch to the left again, if the right side is empty. The arrow therefore indicates which side is in use, the other side is on standby. The quality of the gas is guaranteed by the high-quality materials, even up to a gas quality of 6.0. (or 99.9999% purity)

This manifold is very complete and is equipped with main and flushing valves as standard. This allows the air that is introduced during a cylinder change to be flushed away, without disrupting the process. The two-stage pressure reduction ensures a stable pressure in the distribution line. In addition, various options are available, such as contact pressure gauges; this enables remote content signalling. Certified safety can be integrated to protect specific process situations. Combigas recommends periodic inspection and maintenance advice for this plant based on NEN-EN 15001-2 and NEN-EN ISO 7396-1; for details, see product sheet PI-K.051.

A shut-off valve is a simple but essential component for shutting off a gas flow. The seal is based on metal diaphragm technology for optimum sealing. The shut-off valve is manually operated and has 1 inlet and 1 outlet port. (multi-port versions are available)

The compact design makes this model widely applicable. The shut-off valve can be mounted in a pipe or on a plate. The shut-off valve has a clear indication of green or red to see whether the shut-off valve is open or closed. Furthermore, the indication on the knob intuitively shows which way the knob should be turned to open or close the shut-off valve. The ribbed plastic knob ensures a good grip, making the shut-off valve easy to operate. Combigas recommends periodic inspection and maintenance advice for this unit based on NEN-EN 15001-2 and NEN-EN ISO 7396-1; see product sheet PI-K.051 for details. The SPEC version is a chrome-plated brass version (CGS); the HighEnd is a stainless steel version (CGH).
